Hello, my name is Corrine Wickens
and I am the new physical educator here at Zuni elementary. The students call me coach, coach “W” or coach Wickens. We are working on sub teacher team games with the emphasis on: · Team work · Strategies · Angles · Throwing techniques · Safety and proper
use of equipment This Fall K-2 students will be working on ball skills, covering: · Eye-hand
coordination skills · Catching &
throwing skills · Individual, dual,
and team skills and activities. 3-5: We will be engaging in the
team sport of volleyball, covering the same skills as described above while
working on team strategies. K-5 will also be covering locomotor skills as seen in hopscotch, as well
as eye-foot coordination, &
reading patterns. K-2 will be assessed on hopping, jumping, skipping, galloping, balance,
leaping. 3-5 will be assessed on skills involved in hopscotch (balance, eye-foot
coordination, strength, power, pattern reading, and game play/ knowledge. K-5 will also be covering 2/4-square, and tetherball skills. I will also be teaching soccer skills, and more in depth soccer games for
3-5th graders. (eye-foot coordination) K-5: Dance: covering cultural and social aspects as well as movement
