Hello and welcome to another thrilling year
at Zuni Elementary School! My name is Jennifer Ek and I am Zuni
Elementary School’s full time technology teacher and coordinator. A question
that drives my instruction and motivates to seek out new technologies is “How
does Zuni differ from any other school using technology around the district
knowing we are a TECHNOLOGY MAGNET school”. As we explore the school year
together, keep in mind the goal of consistently and constantly pushing each
child to do their educational best, to have each child meet the goals of the
school’s educational plan for student success, and to demonstrate the
learning skills that are needed to be successful in the 21st century. Zuni’s
mission is, Every child will have the opportunity to maximize his/ her potential
through enriched technological experiences. The
technology integration model used at Zuni is unique because of a co-teaching
method used to demonstrate how technology can support learning as well as
enrich the minds of all children who participate in the program,. I am thrilled at the opportunity to be
working with each of your AWESOME students in the computer lab once again
this year! Your student’s computer lab time will be two 45 minutes sessions
each week. Once a week your child’s teacher and I will teach technology
integrated lessons focused on the National Educational Technology Standards
(NETS) and other various technology skills. During the other 45 minute lab
time, your student will follow up on the lesson his teacher and I taught or
he/she will explore technology following the classroom teacher’s guide. ANNOUNCEMENT: Please review Zuni’s website monthly to
check our the newsletter and to look for ways you can help Zuni’s technology
program. |
